South Woodham Ferrers Camera Club
A friendly club for photographers of all standards

Testimonials

Tracey Grimes "I joined South Woodham Ferrers Camera Club in September 2004. It was shortly after I moved to South Woodham Ferrers, and I knew no one.

Having an interest in photography but no professional knowledge or experience, I initially thought I would be out of my depth, I was wrong.

Everybody at the club made me feel very welcome.

All ages of people are members of the club, from 15 to 60 +, all getting on and talking

Even though the club is not an educational class to gain qualifications, I have amassed loads of knowledge, and information from talking to the other members, and from the visiting speakers.

This is a club where I am able to talk to other like minded photography enthusiasts and to partake in practical nights and in-club and exterior photographic competitions, and have photographic excursions to interesting places. All these experiences have given me a chance to improve my photography.

Dr Richard Rolfe "I joined South Woodham Ferrers Camera Club some 20 years ago. After a few years I joined the club committee as an ordinary member, then became Chairman and Programme Secretary for 7 years and Treasurer for the last 8 years.

Following suggestions by the club secretary I was instrumental in obtaining a large lottery grant for the club in March 2005. This was used to purchase a laptop, software and digital projector for the benefit of members.

I enjoy our club, with the opportunity to view and appreciate other peoples images and well as them appreciating mine. For me I still use slide film, with my digital cameras replacing print film. My particular interest range from plant photography, close up and macro, portraiture through to landscape.

It has been particularly enjoyable and satisfying over the last few years to be able to pass on knowledge and skills to our growing band of new members; long may this continue. "

Geoff Partridge "I have been a member of South Woodham Ferrers Camaera Club on and off for many years. I have always found the club to be welcoming and inspiring. My breaks from the club have generally been due to other commitments but each time I have returned my interest in photography has been reinvigorated by viewing other members work and the talks by guest speakers."
